Global Live-Entertainment Tech Startup Fever Announces Recent Expansion to Dubai

Fever was launched in Dubai in recent months through global expansion efforts led by Rachid Elameri, a senior talent with rich consulting experience who serves as the Head General Manager in the United Arab Emirates

According to the company, which collaborates with top-tier partners like Netflix and Warner, the move was a long time coming to Dubai, a city also known to be the tech and entertainment capital of the Middle East

Dubai, UAE, June 16 - Fever, the leading live-entertainment discovery platform, has announced its official launch in the Middle East. In alignment with the company's current main objectives of global expansion and attracting world-class talent, the ex-BCG Rachid Elameri joined the company as the Leading General Manager of the United Arab Emirates with a home base in Dubai, the latest city that Fever has its eyes on.

On January 26th, the company announced that they had raised $227m in a round led by the Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“Goldman Sachs”). The round, the largest ever for a live-entertainment tech startup, values the company at over $1bn, reaching a milestone Unicorn status and reinforcing the future of in-person experiences in a post-pandemic world.

Goldman Sachs Growth was joined by Alignment Growth, growth equity investor in global entertainment and consumer tech, led by former Warner Bros, Time Warner, and investment banking executives. Other co-investors participating in the round were Goodwater Capital (the largest dedicated consumer technology platform globally), and Smash Capital (a late-stage venture capital firm led by former Disney and growth equity investors, backer of Epic Games). In addition to the announced primary financing of $227m, Eurazeo and Vitruvian Partners have also participated through a secondary investment of an undisclosed amount.

In 5 short years, Fever has grown its presence from only three cities to a global category leader with a presence in more than 80 cities worldwide. The next chapter recently began in Dubai, with the hiring of Rachid Elameri as Fever UAE’s General Manager.

After earning four master’s degrees including a Master of Science in Information Technology from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Rachid began his career as Head of Special Consulting Projects for Beijaflore in France while simultaneously pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree at the London Business School. In a previous role, he was Principal at Boston Consulting Group in Dubai, where he covered several technology topics including Fintech, e-commerce, digital transformation and more. 

Rachid joined Fever with the aim of continuing to develop the technology of a platform already used by high-profile entertainment and content producers such as Netflix and Warner while facilitating its entry into the Middle Eastern market. Focusing its expansion efforts in Dubai in 2022, Fever has already announced the opening of many diverse positions in Dubai to further solidify its attraction of strong talent and presence in the region.

After joining, Rachid stressed that he is aligned with Fever’s mission to democratize access to culture and entertainment and firmly believes in its future, particularly  after witnessing the company multiply 10x its revenues since their last financing round in 2019 despite a global pandemic.
