‘80s Legend Jocelyn Brown to Perform Live at Manchester 360º’s March Party

The iconic 'Somebody else's guy' singer will perform her best-loved hits in the spectacular Manchester Cathedral

Wednesday 22nd February 2023 - After legendary House Music producer The Shapeshifters took the cathedral by storm in February, 360º is back in April with another roof-raising line up. Headlining April’s party will be none other than Jocelyn Brown, the distinctive, powerhouse vocals behind 1980s smash hits “Somebody Else’s Guy”, “Keep on Jumpin” and more.

In addition to the disco Queen herself, also featuring in this edition of the 360º party series will be Soul Boutique (Roger Simpson & Lee Crank), Bombard Groove, Disco Kath and Scott Forrest back-to-back with Sharples. The exclusive event will be held inside the magnificent Manchester Cathedral. 

The 360º party series as a concept brings electronic music lovers a unique way of experiencing house, techno and disco sets against the most incredible of backdrops. Conceptualised by Fever in collaboration with JBM Music, these one-of-a-kind events promise a visual spectacle in which there is always a 360º element. In other words, whether it be via a centralised stage or a centralised dancefloor, the DJ is visible from all angles.

360º events are also known for their use of unconventional venues, with previous parties hosted in some truly remarkable spaces, including an original Edwardian era swimming pool, a concorde aircraft hangar, as well as beautiful cathedrals and churches dating back centuries. These jaw-dropping settings, the 360º element, plus incredible projection mapping and state-of-the-art sound systems all come together to create a highly immersive sensorial experience.

Manchester’s 360º experience in April will be no exception, being held in the city’s historic Cathedral, a striking, Grade I listed building with origins in the 13th century. Partygoers will dance to disco sounds on a beautiful marble dance floor surrounded by the stunning architecture of this national heritage site.

During a career spanning five decades, Jocelyn Brown has collaborated with some of the greatest artists, producers and musicians of our time, including Incognito, Nuyorican Soul, Masters at Work, Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, George Benson, Michael Jackson, CHIC and many more. Having made a solid name for herself within multiple musical genres, from RnB to Soul, Disco to Pop and nowadays, House, her nostalgic anthems continue to fill dancefloors today. In this exclusive edition of 360º Jocelyn will perform an extended setlist of her best-loved tracks, including: Keep On Jumpin, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Enough is Enough, Believe, Something Goin’ On (In Your Soul), and - of course her signature tune - Somebody Else’s Guy.

Jocelyn Brown

Inspired by her renowned music artist aunt, Barbara Roy, Jocelyn began her career in the 1970s as a studio singer for many groups and artists like Musique, Inner Life, Bad Girls, The Salsoul Orchestra, Disco Tex & His Sex-O-Lettes, Van McCoy, Evelyn King, Gloria Gaynor, Phyllis Hyman, Vicki Sue Robinson, Dazzle, Revanche, Melba Moore, Roberta Flack, Cerrone, Chic and Change. In 1984, she started her solo career gaining great success with the single "Somebody Else's Guy", which reached #2 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart (#75 on the Hot 100).Since then, her contribution to the world of dance music has been well recognised, working with countless artists of the genre, remaining a versatile vocalist to this day, singing on many R&B, Disco, Pop, and House productions.

Scott Forrest 

Inspired by his parents' careers in music, Scott has forged an organic path into the music industry being grown up surrounded by a wide variety of sounds across jazz, motown and disco. First breaking out in Manchester and launching his own disco night, Surco in 2015, the four-to-the-floor night has now featured in some of the finest clubs and festivals in the UK.

Sharples

Starting as a young DJ, Keiran has grown up with music in Manchester as an integral part of his life. From his early days of DJing in smaller clubs and parties of varying legality, he went international -promoting his own events in both Ibiza and Manchester.
