Having delighted audiences in over 150 cities, including Stockholm and Gothenburg, this live, multi-sensory musical experience will take place in outstanding locations in Malmö from May, with its debut hosted at Spegelsalen.
This remarkable initiative by Fever democratises access to classical music, aiming to contribute to Malmö’s cultural scene and open the door further for cultural exchange.
Malmö, 18 March 2024 - Fever, the live entertainment platform known for helping millions of people discover the best experiences in their cities, brings the Candlelight concerts to Malmö with a series of special performances. This classical concert series, known for working with unique spaces that are part of each city's cultural scene, giving visibility to talented local artists, and bringing a wide variety of programs for all tastes kicks off in May with concerts that pay tribute to Queen, and the greatest hits of Coldplay and Hans Zimmer. This expansion to the region comes on the heels of the experience’s success, having delighted audiences in more than 150 cities worldwide, including Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Madrid.
Candlelight Concerts is a series of original music concerts created by Fever with the aim of democratising access to classical music by allowing people all over the world to enjoy live music performances in an intimate candlelit setting. The first concerts will see Spegelsalen lit by thousands of candles, allowing viewers to fully immerse themselves in an adapted program. From 25 May, Malmö residents may enjoy Queen’s greatest hits with a classical twist, as well as Hans Zimmer's film music from award-winning films such as Inception, Gladiator, and The Lion King, or Coldplay’s favourites performed by a talented local string quartet in an innovative format. The varied setlists aim to appeal to a wide range of audiences who may never have considered attending a classical concert before. Here they can experience the most iconic works from the world's leading composers and listen to the greatest hits of famous contemporary artists in a new way.
The Candlelight concept is particularly renowned for taking classical concerts out of opera houses and concert halls and into venues that are part of each city's cultural scene. Launched in 2019, Candlelight concerts of varying scale have been hosted in all kinds of idyllic locations, spanning from modern rooftops with great views to iconic cathedrals, palaces, libraries, gardens and more. Amongst the most iconic of these locations have been the Atomium (Brussels), Tour Eiffel (Paris), Burj Al Arab Jumeirah (Dubai), Victoria Hall (Geneva), Central Hall Westminster (London), Palau de la Musica Catalana (Barcelona), Niagara Falls (Ontario), S.EA. Aquarium (Singapore), and many more in over 150 cities across America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Candlelight was originally conceived as a classical music series with concerts featuring works by the greatest composers, such as Vivaldi, Mozart and Chopin. Now, the ever-expanding programme list encompasses a wide range of themes and genres, including tributes to contemporary artists such as Queen, ABBA, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran, as well as shows dedicated to film music and much more. This multi-sensory experience has also evolved to include diverse elements, such as ballet dancers and acrobats, as well as other genres such as jazz, soul, opera and flamenco.
The company constantly strives to inspire its users with innovative experiences, coming up with and producing new 'Fever Original' ideas.
