The historic Miracle Theatre will be bathed in candlelight while fans enjoy the most awe-inspiring music from one of the greatest film composers of all time
Washington, D.C., June 1 - Having already delighted millions of spectators in more than 90 cities worldwide including Madrid, London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles, Fever’s Candlelight is bringing a new program to a brand new venue in the Capital Region. Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer will enchant audiences at DC’s historic Miracle Theatre starting June 23, featuring some of the musician’s most iconic compositions from some of the greatest films of all time performed by a talented local string quartet.
Considered one of the most admirable and talented composers of film scores in history, Hans Zimmer has given life to movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, and The Lion King. As tribute to the award-winning composer, this mesmerizing performance of classic selections from these movies and more will soundtrack the evening while the famed Miracle Theatre is transformed into a magical atmosphere surrounded by the gentle glow of thousands of candles.
Candlelight aims to democratize access to culture and create an accessible and ambient space to enjoy the works of the greatest classical composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart and Beethoven, as well as modern compositions such as Bach to the Beatles and popular movie soundtracks. Known for performances in unique venues worldwide, from churches to libraries to mansions and other historic landmarks, DC is no exception with Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer taking place at Miracle Theatre, DC’s oldest movie theater, which originally opened in 1909.
This Fever Original concept, which sold 3M tickets in 2021 alone, managed to bring classical music to a whole new audience, with 70% of attendees under 40 in over 90 cities worldwide.
