Teatro Real - The Royal Opera of Madrid, in partnership with Fever, will bring award-winning flamenco artists from Spain for the third time thanks to the public's reception
NEW YORK, NY (July 24, 2023) – Fever, the leading global live-entertainment discovery platform, and Teatro Real - The Royal Opera of Madrid, one of the most prestigious performing arts institutions in Europe, has decided to make its return for the third time in NYC with this captivating live dance performance that showcases the rich heritage of flamenco, a traditional Spanish art form.
Authentic Flamenco debuted in New York exactly one year ago with its first presentation outside of Spain in Teatro Real’s history. The inaugural performance was attended by personalities such as Queen Sofia of Spain, the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida and the Spanish Ambassador to the United States, Santiago Ansonera.
Authentic Flamenco is a 65-minute live presentation curated by SO-LA-NA Entertainment (a benchmark in creating and producing exclusive live performances). Audiences will be delighted by an expression of raw passion and emotion which covers the different traditional "palos" (styles) in the history of flamenco—featuring award-winning Spanish artists Amador Rojas and Yolanda Osuna as dancers, Manu Soto and Bernardo Miranda as singers, José Tomás Jiménez on the guitar, Sergio de Lope on flute and saxophone, and Lolo Plantón on percussion.
“We are extremely excited to come back to NYC and to continue helping our partner Teatro Real - The Royal Opera of Madrid to showcase the tradition of flamenco to audiences across the globe while they help us with our mission of democratizing access to culture,” said Ignacio Bachiller Ströhlein, Co-Founder and CEO at Fever. “As a Spanish-founded company, we are proud to champion these incredibly talented artists while reinforcing our commitment to making culture accessible for all.”
“Bringing such a genuine and unique art form to such different places is an achievement for the Teatro Real as a result of its commitment to cultural heritage. Promoting and developing such an ambitious project is a duty not only to the performing arts but also to audiences around the world,” said Ignacio García-Belenguer, CEO of Teatro Real.
