Aussie music mastermind and Grammy nominee JOY announces collaboration with Fever’s Candlelight Concerts
The genre-transcending producer-singer-songwriter will perform shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, illuminated by thousands of candles
Fever, the leading entertainment discovery platform, has launched ticket sales for a special edition of its world-renowned Candlelight Concerts series with Aussie super talent and grammy nominee JOY performing in three major cities early next year.
Candlelight: Australian Electro Pop feat. Joy will play at Sydney’s Great Hall on January 28; Melbourne’s National Theatre on February 2; and Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on February 4, with each venue illuminated by thousands of candles for a stunning, multi-sensory musical experience.
Having burst onto the music scene via Triple J Unearthed in 2014, the 24 year old Brisbane-born producer-singer-songwriter will lend her sultry, hypnotic vocals to a setlist of original songs, accompanied by Melbourne-based string ensemble, Eclective Strings.
With a slew of sold-out Australian tours and support slots under her belt - including openers for the likes of SZA, James Bay, Tkay Maidza and pop megastar Demi Lovato - JOY is a multi-instrumentalist whose ethereal and introspective electronic music transcends genres.

JOY. the artist, like the emotion, is for everyone. Her music doesn’t fit squarely into any particular genre, melding modern sounds with classic techniques to create something contemporary and timeless at the same time.
Bursting onto the scene at 16 years old in 2014, JOY. stunned listeners with her emotion filled vocals and hypnotic production on debut single ‘Captured’ and follow up ‘Stone’. Some such stunned listeners were Australia’s biggest dance duo Peking Duk, who invited her as featured vocalist for their triple j ‘Like A Version’, performing Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Outta My Head’ and receiving her tick of approval.
Crafting her sound as a producer and songwriter since, JOY.'s acclaimed EP, Ode landed #1 on the iTunes electronic charts in 2015.
Recently Grammy nominated for her work as a producer and songwriter on Future’s No.1 Billboard album I never liked you, behind the scenes of her own music, JOY. continued to work as a producer and songwriter for other artists - producing for Teo, Phora, BLESSED, Manu Crooks, Anfa Rose and writing with Daheala (XO crew), DJ Khalil (Eminem, Kanye) Om’mas Keith (Frank Ocean, Anderson Paak), Vory, Jessie Reyez, and Jess Jackson to name a few. Having notably worked with The Kid Laroi since his early days, JOY can also claim a role in his Billboard No.1 Album ‘F*CK Love’ for which she is a credited writer, producer and performer on.
Those who kept watching, would not have been disappointed with her sophomore EP ‘Six’ racking up more than 50 million streams. On stage, JOY.’s multi-instrumental skills have also been on show, with sellout Australian tours and support slots for the likes of SZA, Kehlani, James Bay, Raury, Tkay Maidza and most notably joining pop megastar Demi Lovato on her 2018 european tour, playing such venues as the O2 Arena, wowing audiences and garnering a new wave of fans.
JOY.’s recently released third EP ‘Portal’, on which she worked solo for the better part of two years is said to be a transcendent journey through sounds and emotion - springboarded lyrically through her introspection as a young woman and musically through her obsession with sounds and mastering instruments.
