Water Lantern Festival brings Thailand’s floating lantern tradition to London this September

Inspired by the iconic Chiang Mai festival, this enchanting cultural experience arrives at Danson Park on 5 September before returning to Clapham Common on 19 and 20 September

Following a successful UK debut last year, the Water Lantern Festival is returning to London this summer. Set to transform the city into a glowing celebration of community, reflection and shared experience, the festival will take place at Danson Park on 5 September before returning to Clapham Common on 19 and 20 September. This cultural and sensory event is co-produced by Water Lantern Festival and Fever, the world's leading tech platform for discovering culture and live entertainment.

The festival offers an enchanting open-air setting, where hundreds of floating lights transform the landscape as the sun sets over the lake. Guests can enjoy live music, curated food options from local vendors, and recreational activities, all within an atmosphere designed for reflection and shared connection. Those wishing to take part in the ritual can purchase a kit via Fever’s website or app, including all the materials needed to fully experience the occasion.

The ritual is at the heart of the event, allowing attendees to write a personal message, whether a wish, a reflection, or a note of gratitude, before setting the eco-friendly lanterns afloat on the water.
