Oakland, CA [April 21, 2025] - Continuing its successful global campaign to bring play, joy and inspiration to the world, Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience has selected Oakland, in the San Francisco Bay Area, for its next awe-inspiring debut. A spherical interactive experience that promises to challenge your imagination and awaken your inner child, Bubble Planet is set to arrive at the Henry J Kaiser Center for the Arts this May.

In this multisensory experience, visitors will travel through fantastical, interactive landscapes and explore imaginary metaverses filled with unique optical illusions and stunning photo opportunities. Bubble Planet opens to the public in May. The waitlist to reserve your spot is open now; tickets officially go on sale on Thursday, April 24.

Adding to the unique experience, Bubble Planet will be housed within the newly renovated Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts.  The beaux-arts style building is a historic treasure in the East Bay. Shuttered for the past twenty years, the building has been pain-stakingly restored, bringing back a storied venue that was central to life in the east bay for nearly a century, serving as the home of the Grateful Dead, the Black Panther movement and the beloved annual Oakland Christmas pageant, as well as being a venue that hosted events ranging from community events to concerts and speakers such as Elvis, Tower of Power, AC/DC, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and more.

Within the Bubble Planet experience, guests will move between ten uniquely themed rooms, including a large bubble bath ball pit, a virtual reality room, an undersea LED room and an endless infinity experience, embarking on a journey created to connect with countless emotions and sensations and marvel at breathtaking concepts. The combination of colors, lasers, lights and bubbles, together with 360-degree projection technology and a soaring virtual reality interactive, promises to deliver a magical experience for all and encourages guests to release their inner child.

“We constantly strive to create experiences that instill a sense of wonder and play in our guests. Bubble Planet more than delivers on this mission,” says John Zaller, Executive Producer of Exhibition Hub. “We couldn’t be happier to bring this fantastical experience to Bay Area residents this year as the inaugural experience at the Henry J. Kaiser Center.”

Following a lively visit to Bubble Planet, guests can stroll out onto the Center’s beautiful Plaza and enjoy the stunning view of Lake Merritt while sitting under the intricately carved arch sculptures, a creation of artist Alexander Stirling Calder.  “We are thrilled to welcome Bubble Planet to the Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts in our inaugural year,” says Terri Trotter, CEO of the Center. “The HJK Center is all about bringing people together to build community and uplift spirits - a place where family and friends from Oakland and beyond can enjoy art, entertainment and each other’s presence, and Bubble Planet sets the stage perfectly for that.”

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Exhibition Hub to bring innovative, immersive experiences to new cities,” says Isabel Solano, Vice President of Original Experiences at Fever. “Introducing Bubble Planet to Oakland reflects our commitment to expanding unforgettable experiences and pushing the boundaries of live entertainment.”

Bubble Planet is co-produced by Exhibition Hub – curator, producer and distributor of large exhibitions and family entertainment globally – in partnership with Fever – the leading global live-entertainment discovery platform.

This experience is suitable for all ages. Tickets will be available for purchase on Thursday, April 24, at bubble-planet.com, starting at $19.90 for adults and $16.90 for children. VIP tickets will also be available.

About Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts

The new Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts reopened in 2025 after being closed for over 20 years.  It brings a unique new venue online in Oakland, supporting much needed mid-sized performance and event spaces including a 1400 seat theater, a 250 seat theater ballroom, two ballroom/event rooms and an arena with space for up to 4000 people.  In addition, a new terrace overlooks Lake Merritt with spectacular views, offering a place for people to gather for festivals, outdoor events or just an afternoon enjoying the lake.  The renovation is the result of an innovative partnership between the City of Oakland, a private developer, and the public trust.  The City-owned building, a treasure of historic architecture and art, has been meticulously restored by Orton Development, a local development company specializing in historic renovations.  The building is now operated by a nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve the building in perpetuity, to showcase and provide visibility to Oakland-based artists, and to bring audiences into Oakland to enjoy art, culture, entertainment and the vibrant community around Lake Merritt.  Located at 10 Tenth Street in downtown Oakland, next door to the Oakland Museum of California, the Center features a private parking lot, a short two block walk to the BART, and an adjacency to the Lake Merritt walking trails.
