Madrid, April 24th 2025- On May 9, the fourth edition of Authentic Flamenco will kick off — a project by Teatro Real and Fever, in artistic co-production with SO-LA-NA — aimed at sharing and promoting flamenco art both within and beyond Spain’s borders, featuring some of the most representative artists of this unique cultural expression.

This year’s edition will focus on North America, with performances in eighteen U.S. cities — Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orange County, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tampa, Tucson, and Washington, D.C. — and three Canadian cities: Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. From coast to coast, the tour will bring flamenco to diverse audiences across the continent.

Two remarkable women lead this dance-focused tour: Ángeles Gabaldón and Patricia Donn — artists with strong academic foundations who bring two unique approaches to flamenco, both deeply rooted in a singular emotional language expressed through different accents and personal styles.

Born in Seville, Ángeles Gabaldón began her dance training at the age of ten, eventually earning a degree in Spanish Dance and Classical Ballet from the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Sevilla. She further refined her craft under some of flamenco’s greatest masters — including Matilde Coral, Manolo Marín, Merche Esmeralda, Eva Yerbabuena, and Juana Amaya — and was awarded the National First Prize for Best Choreography for Alegrías de la Perla de Cádiz and the National First Prize "El Desplante 2002" at the International Festival of Cante de las Minas in La Unión.

Patricia Donn left her hometown of Granollers early on to pursue flamenco at the Paca García school in Barcelona, following classical, contemporary, and Spanish classical dance studies. These wide-ranging foundations, combined with her natural talent and expressive power, have made her one of the most outstanding dancers of her generation. She trained with renowned artists such as Eva Yerbabuena, Antonio Canales, Lola Greco, Farruquito, and Gala Vivancos, and was awarded First Prize at the Flamenco Contest of Tablao Las Carboneras in Madrid (2018).

Since its launch in 2022, Authentic Flamenco has completed eleven international tours, reaching over twenty countries and captivating more than 275,000 spectators from across the globe — including audiences in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Japan, China, South Korea, France, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates.

Across 836 performances on international stages, outstanding artists in singing, guitar playing, and dance have demonstrated flamenco’s profound ability to evoke emotion, dazzle with technical mastery, reveal beauty, and deeply move audiences with the raw power of this timeless art form.
