This Halloween, a mysterious infection sweeps through the prison, meaning guests won't just have to escape Alcotraz, they'll have to survive it.
Melbourne | 22 September 2026 – This Halloween, Alcotraz: The Immersive Prison Cocktail Experience, is taking guests behind bars for its most unsettling and exclusive chapter yet: The Cell Block Infection.
Arriving at 592 Elizabeth Street starting in October and for select dates only, Alcotraz: Cell Block Infection keeps the prison, the cast and the drinks but immerses them in a comedy-horror night out for the ages.

The year is 1958 and outside a violent storm rages as a mysterious cargo container washes ashore near the prison. Within hours, inmates begin showing disturbing symptoms.
Guests arrive to find the prison under heightened security, with guards conducting infection checks and the Warden insisting everything is under control. But as the outbreak spreads, the truth reveals itself.
Working alongside Cassidy, the prison´s notorious bootlegger, guests will have to decide who to trust, uncover what happened inside Alcotraz and find a way to survive the outbreak before the prison is sealed off for good.
"A haunted maze makes you walk down a corridor and jump," said Sam Shearman, founder of Inventive Productions, which runs Alcotraz. "We wanted the opposite. You get a jumpsuit, sit down, you get a drink, and the horror happens around you while everyone in the room is still having fun. The Warden's official position is that the outbreak is under control. It is not."

As guests navigate the infected cell blocks, expert mixologists serve bespoke cocktails. Every drink, every clue and every encounter pulls guests deeper into the prison where nothing is as it seems, while UV infection effects, biohazard markings, quarantine areas and emergency alarms bring the outbreak to life around them.
