Sydney and Melbourne to host Candlelight®: Peaky Blinders, a live music experience celebrating the award-winning drama series
The international concert series presented by Fever, in partnership with Banijay Rights, will celebrate the legacy of Peaky Blinders, bringing its iconic music to St Stephen's Uniting Church and Collingwood Town Hall
Fever and Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of media and entertainment group Banijay Entertainment, have partnered to present Candlelight®: Peaky Blinders in selected cities around the world, including Sydney and Melbourne. The experience will take place at St Stephen's Uniting Church and Collingwood Town Hall, inviting audiences to celebrate the legacy of the award-winning drama series through a selection of its most memorable music, reimagined in a classical format and performed by a talented local string quartet.
The series is renowned for its distinctive contemporary soundtrack, which has become an essential part of its atmospheric and cinematic identity. From Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ “Red Right Hand”, the show’s recognisable opening theme, to tracks by artists including Radiohead, David Bowie and Arctic Monkeys, the music of Peaky Blinders has helped define the world of the Shelby family. The series was also awarded the BAFTA for Drama Series in 2018.
“Candlelight’s mission is to bring classical music closer to a wider audience, including people who may never have attended a concert before. Together with Banijay Rights, we’re reimagining Peaky Blinders’ iconic soundtrack for Candlelight’s intimate concert setting, creating a special connection between audiences and the stories they love” – Kimberly Schmidt, Global IP Senior Team Lead at Fever.
Leila Loumi, Global SVP Licensing at Banijay Rights commented: “Expertly curated musical moments have shaped the world of Peaky Blinders on-screen and our partnership with Fever brings that unmistakable soundtrack centre stage, inviting fans to immerse themselves in the world of the series and celebrate the music at its heart in a whole new way.”
