Candlelight by Fever participates in Stockholm’s annual Culture Festival with candlelit performances by Daniel Hormazábal and Anna Gréta

From 14 to 18 August, the Stockholm Culture Festival invites everyone to five days of cultural display and enrichment.

Fever, the global platform for the discovery of cultural activities and live-entertainment, with the mission to make culture more accessible, joins the festival’s efforts to amplify culture and the voices of youth with two candlelit performances on 16 and 17 August.

Stockholm,  12 August 2024 - From the 14th to the 18th of August, Stockholm transforms into a vibrant hub of cultural exchange and enrichment where art, music, dance, and more are put on centre stage. The Stockholm Culture Festival, which attracts over a million visitors each year, celebrates our society’s customs, traditions, heritage and forms of expression. Fever, known for their efforts in democratising access to culture, allied with the festival in their goal with two Candlelight performances in collaboration with Daniel Hormazábal and Anna Gréta on 16 and 17 August.

The Candlelight Concerts, a series of original music concerts created by Fever aimed at democratising access to classical music, present an innovative format to experience this genre through a varied offer of programs to meet all tastes, played by local musicians in emblematic venues, with the space and performers illuminated by thousands of candles.

For this year’s edition of the Culture Festival, this concept will be bringing their worldwide known candlelit setting to light up the performances of Daniel Hormazábal and Anna Gréta. The former is the award-winning concert pianist who is celebrated by traditional concert audiences while simultaneously not afraid to challenge convention. The latter, pianist, singer and songwriter Anna Gréta, performs music that combines jazz and pop with Nordic folk music that testifies to her Icelandic roots.

Fever’s Candlelight Concerts are a natural fit with the Stockholm Culture Festival and artists like Daniel Hormazábal and Anna Gréta, who both share a commitment to breaking down barriers in music and making it accessible to diverse audiences. Long considered an elitist and difficult-to-access genre, classical music seemed until now not to be within everyone's reach. By blending tradition with innovation, these artists align perfectly with the festival’s and Candlelight’s ethos of cultural development and enrichment.

These performances will take place at the Skeppsbron festival music stage below the Royal Palace; the scene for a blend of music genres such as jazz, rap, soul, world music, classical and more.

The Stockholm Culture Festival takes place between 14 and 18 August across multiple festival areas in the heart of the city. Entrance is free of charge. Please find more information on the official website here.
